Today, Quantum holds five international patents, three of them for the following stabilizer systems: XT™ Fin, MAGLift™ Rotor and Dyna-Foil™. Our innovative product line positions us as the preferred stabilizer choice for large luxury yachts, military fleets, and commercial vessels, delivering unmatched stability across all vessel types.
The e-FIN is Quantum’s first-ever fully electric stabilization system. The original design and energy recovery capabilities make it unique to other electric stabilizers on the market. In addition, it satisfies the sustainable solution criteria and positions Quantum back into the smaller, 40m – 65m market.
Quantum’s patented XT™ Fin is the most popular, active fin system to date. The main stabilizer fin houses another fin or “foil,” designed to extend or retract based on the speed of the vessel. To maximize the performance at Zero Speed™, the foil is extended, providing 30% more surface area, while generating 100% more lift force. To maximize the performance underway, the foil has the ability to retract, reducing the surface area, preventing any unnecessary drag or fuel inefficiencies. Standard fins are frequently converted to XT™ Fins.
MAGLift™ Rotor Stabilizer design is based on the Magnus Effect whereby a spinning object moving through flowing water, creates a whirlpool of fluids around itself, and experiences a force perpendicular to the line of motion and away from the direction of spin. Unlike traditional fin stabilizer systems, the MAGLift™ Rotor Stabilizer generates lift proportional to the speed and direction of its rotating cylinders. The rotors, mounted beneath the ship’s hull, use hydraulic or hybrid power to deploy retractable rotating cylinders, combatting a ship’s roll.
Dyna-Foil™ is the most advanced stabilizer technology on the market— engineered exclusively for both Zero Speed™ and underway performance, with fully retractable capabilities. Its high-aspect, articulating foil delivers maximum roll reduction and comfort at any speed.
In Zero Speed™ mode, the swinging motion generates water flow over the foil, creating lift for optimal stabilization. Underway, the foil can be fully extended for performance with minimal drag, or retracted as needed.
Perfect for vessels with zero-to-medium-speed stabilization requirements, Ice Class applications, or where space constraints prevent a fixed fin, Dyna-Foil™ fits seamlessly within the hull’s envelope.
