Stabilizer Retrofits

The Quantum Refit & Retrofit Division

Out with the old, in with the new! Over the last decade, there have been many significant innovations to Quantum's stabilizing technology.

No matter if your vessel features our system or a competitors’, a Quantum retrofit will ensure your yacht is sporting the latest stabilization technology. Not sure which type of refit or upgrade is right for your yacht? The Quantum Retrofit Team will make a personalized analysis and suggest modifications and improvements specific to your yacht.

Why Your Vessel Needs a Refit

There are various reasons for why it makes sense to update or refit a stabilizer system. From updating technology to replacing an entire system, read on to learn more about different refit scenarios.

Technological Innovation

Yacht stabilization is a science that continually evolves, from systems becoming more sustainable with efficiency gains like the F45 to increasing surface area with an XT™ Fin. After a couple of years, it might make sense to look into newer to technologies to actually save money!

Fast Roll Periods

If a boat or yacht is used frequently and has a fast roll period, wear and tear will be significantly higher than on a vessel that is rarely used or has a slower roll period. Depending on the number of operating hours, it may make sense to replace the entire system or just certain components based on the need.

Refit related to a Sale

If a yacht is being prepared to sell, it may make sense for the current owner to undergo a refit, ensuring the latest stabilization technology to command a higher price. Similarly, a new owner might choose to refit a yacht shortly after purchase to enhance performance and onboard comfort.

The Naiad Adapter

Our engineers have developed a process to refit an existing Naiad systems, without the need to drill through the hull of the boat.

Popular Quantum Refit Scenarios

Yacht owners all over the world trust Quantum’s ship stabilizers as the “gold standard” in roll reduction and marine stabilization.  Many yachts today are outfitted with standard underway stabilizer fins, without Zero Speed™ capabilities. This is a common retrofit scenario that can be easily remedied.

Another highly popular refit is the XT™ Conversion. This process involves replacing a standard fin with an XT™ Fin, which provides 30% more surface area when extended, generating up to 100% more lift. Lift is what generates stability. A vessel is most vulnerable to rolling at slow or zero speed™ and this is exactly where the XT™ Fin delivers exceptional performance. Following a conversion, owners consistently report significant improvements in overall ride quality and enhanced stability.

To explore the possibilities, the Quantum Sales and Engineering Team can assess the specifications and requirements of your vessel to determine the best options for improvement.  In some cases, simply upgrading the control boards have resulted in major improvements to the stabilizer performance.

Why not go for the best ride possible?  Whether your vessel is used for pleasure or commercial purposes, a stable and smooth ride leads to a safer, more productive and better overall experience. Your vessel can be retrofitted with new and improved technology.

After all—It’s all about the ride and keeping it SMOOTH!
