Overview

The Warehouse Team Leader coordinates the daily execution of warehouse activities in
accordance with priorities established by the Procurement & Planning Coordinator. This is a hands-on leadership role that works alongside the warehouse team to ensure daily tasks are effectively assigned, completed accurately, and properly documented. The Warehouse Team Leader supports efficient warehouse operations by promoting inventory accuracy, maintaining a safe and organized work environment, and providing day-to-day guidance to team members.

Duties

Core duties include but are not limited to the following:

  •  Organize and distribute daily warehouse tasks.
  • Actively participate in receiving, picking, packing and material movements.
  • Follow up on open warehouse tasks and ensure they are completed correctly and on
    time.
  • Maintain an orderly, safe and practical warehouse layout.
  • Ensure materials are correctly identified, stored and registered.
  • Support cycle counts and investigate inventory differences.
  • Ensure warehouse procedures and safety rules are followed.
  • Provide practical guidance and on-the-job training to warehouse employees.
  • Complete the required warehouse activities before handing materials over to Shipping.
  • Report delays, missing information, and operational issues to the Procurement &
    Planning Coordinator.
  • Suggest practical improvements to daily warehouse activities.
  • Any and all duties as reasonably assigned.

Supervisory Responsibility

This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

Education / Knowledge

  •  Completed secondary education (VMBO, HAVO, or equivalent) is required.
  • 3+ years of experience in a warehouse environment is required.
  • 2+ years of experience picking and packing within a warehouse environment is
    required.
  • 1+ years of experience with warehouse inventory is required.
  • Experience with computerized material stock control is required.
  • Experience using a narrow aisle reach truck (standing forklift) and front-loaded sit-down forklift is preferred.
  • Experience with enterprise resource planning (ERP) databases is preferred.
  • Experience with handheld bar-coding equipment is preferred.
  • Common computer experience using Microsoft Windows operating system is required.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office 365 (Outlook, Teams, Word, and Excel) is required.
  • Fluency in Dutch and English (written and verbal) is required.

Travel

This job does not require international travel. Occasionally, local travel within driving distance may be required. A valid driver’s license is a requirement of this position.

Work Conditions

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an
employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. This job operates in a
warehouse and manufacturing environment, with some outdoor expose during the workday. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, copy machines, and standard warehouse equipment such as hand trucks, box cutters, and tape dispensers. The employee may regularly use hand and power tools. The employee must be able to perform the physical demands of the role, including regularly lifting and moving objects weighing up to 23 kg (50 lbs.), in accordance with applicable health and safety guidelines. The employee will regularly be maneuvering, navigating, or driving vehicles or mechanized equipment, such as hand trucks, forklifts, and passenger vehicles. Proper training and certification of fork lift use will be provided, if needed.
