Spin-A-Thon 2026
Welcome to the 2nd Quantum Spin-a-Thon! This year’s event focuses on supporting crew and shipyard training by engaging younger audiences and providing scholarships that create a platform for growth.
The Quantum Spin-A-Thon is our fundraising and community event, designed to bring the maritime industry together around a shared cause through spinning, sponsorship, and collaboration. First launched in 2024, the Spin-A-Thon is about uniting the global marine community, to better charities organizations and causes.

The Spin-A-Thon provides an opportunity to sponsor each bike and form a team during the six hour spin session. Each session runs for 30 minutes with a 5 minute break in between riders. As riders complete their sessions, the energy they generate is recorded in kilojoules (kJ), a measurable way to track team and individual performance. At the end of the event, the bike that generates the highest total kilojoules is recognized as the winning team, and the individual rider with the highest kJ output in a single half-hour session is also recognized, with awards presented to both. This format keeps the energy high, encourages friendly competition, and lets supporters easily track progress with a “team” spirit.
Funds raised will be directed toward initiatives that help address the dire shortages of skilled crafts people and crew training. This includes programs focused on promoting and educating audiences currently unaware of the career opportunities, apprenticeships, and training pathways for future yacht and marine professionals. Supporting these initiatives helps ensure the industry continues to attract a growing pool of talent, properly supports their journey and ensures a bright and stable future for the yachting industry. We have partnered with Captain Sandy’s Charities and other maritime training platforms to support the engagement and training mission of the Spin-a-Thon.
Sponsoring
Sponsorships are now open for registration. A bike will be provided to the sponsor company, with logo branding and a slot for a 30-second video to run during breaks. Additionally, heavy promotion of the event will be provided through social media, industry trade publications/platforms and area news outlets.
There are 12 – 1/2 slots to fill during the 6 hour spin period. If your team is unable to fill all twelve 30-minute slots, Quantum and the event community will fill the remaining spots with spinners.
