Sound & Vibration Testing – QP100A
Testing was conducted at Quantum’s corporate headquarters and manufacturing test bay in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida. Initiated by Quantum’s R & D department and administered by J&A Enterprises, a third-party, sound and vibration consultancy firm. The equipment tested was a Quantum designed, 75 kW hydraulic power unit (HPU).
The testing criteria included a Quantum designed, 75 kW HPU with stringent noise and vibration requirements, targeting airborne and structural noise for hydrographic ship operations. Upon completion, testing results were unprecedented, with airborne noise below 75 dB and structural noise below 65 dB.
