John Allen, Quantum CEO, shares the groundbreaking benefits of the new F45 Electric/Hydraulic Power System. The technology, efficiencies and advantages will blow your mind!
The F45 Hybrid, uses the best attributes of both a traditional hydraulic system and a direct electric drive, offering up to 60% greater efficiencies. It meets both the long-term energy efficiency requirements and the peak transient energy needs of the closed marine electrical system.
Aaron shares the experiences that he has had over the years with Quantum Stabilizer Systems. He explains the process of determining the “ideal” stabilizer system during the early planning and design phase for ARTEFACT, the 80m Nobiskrug.
Learn about the Quantum pedigree and the innovations over the last four decades that have revolutionized the stabilizer industry. The “Q” in Quantum stands for quality that has stood the test of time.
Introducing the new rack and pinion actuator (hull unit), the “R Series,” developed specifically to maximize the performance of Quantum’s Fixed and XT™ Fins. With a smaller footprint, typically improved zero speed™ performance and an extended service schedule, estimated at 15,000 hours to replace he roller bearings, this unit offers incredible advantages. The hydraulic cylinders can be rebuilt in place, greatly simplifying the process, minimizing the maintenance cost and reducing vessel down time.
Quantum has opened a new sales and service facility in Barcelona within the MB92 Shipyard. Barcelona offers both an extensive yacht support infrastructure and quick access to the Mediterranean, representing shorter response times.
View a completed installation of a Quantum XT™ Fin System in a new 73m Feadship. The most popular system to date. Take note of the quality fittings, piping, paint, fit and finish. Not to mention, exceptional performance! Truly a work of art!
Quantum’s Service is known and respected throughout the world. The responsiveness, competency and professionalism of the service techs has played a major role in developing the revered Quantum Brand.
The 1st Dyna-Foil™ System was installed on FREEDOM, a 70m Benetti refit at Tampa Ship. Dyna-Foil™ is a fully retractable, multi-purpose system, using self-induced lift for outstanding Zero Speed operation and an efficient lift to drag coefficient for outstanding underway performance. This represents the only system on the market to offer both Zero Speed™ and underway with retractable capabilities.
Quantum XT™ (extendable) Fin Stabilizer is a semi-retractable boat stabilizer fin system. Quantum’s XT™ fin stabilizer system for ships provides optimal stabilizer performance at Zero Speed™ and underway through fin variations. For Zero Speed™ operations, the foil extends out of the pocket, increasing the effective fin area and improving Zero Speed™ stabilizer performance. For underway operations, the foil remains retracted within a pocket in the XT™ stabilizer fin.
The MAGLift™ Rotor is ideal for Zero Speed™ and underway stabilization. It is based on the “Magnus Effect,” a phenomenon where a rotating cylinder creates lift proportional to the speed and direction of the rotation. The rotors are completely retractable underway and can be pocketed.
The science and technology of the MAGLift™ Rotor. An overview of Quantum’s revolutionary MAGLift™ Rotor Stabilizer System. Understanding the theory and application of the “Magnus Effect” applied to ship stabilization/roll reduction.
The Quantum XT™ (extendable) Fin Stabilizers for NAVY and Coast Guard applications are semi-retractable systems. The XT™ fin stabilizer system provides optimal stabilizer performance for ships at Zero Speed™, loitering and underway through fin variations.
This system works underway as well as at anchor. Underway, fin movements are smaller as the fins generate lift by moving through the water. Stability underway is excellent. There is always a drag penalty when generating lift, but our fins are designed to minimize drag while maximizing lift.
The DYNA-FOIL™ active fin stabilizer systems underwent extensive third-party model testing by the MARIN (Marine Research Institute Netherlands) to improve performance at anchor or zero speed and underway relative compared to a traditional fixed fin stabilizer. DYNA-FOIL™ stabilizers retract completely into a full pocket or to a parallel position to the hull.
This system works underway as well as at anchor. Underway, fin movements are smaller as the fins generate lift by moving through the water. Stability underway is excellent. There is always a drag penalty when generating lift, but our fins are designed to minimize drag while maximizing lift. Efficient stabilization creates a comfortable ride which enhances crew endurance and safety.
