SilverYachts shipyard: A progressive yacht building business

SilverYachts, formerly known as Hanseatic Marine, was founded in 2005 by German entrepreneur, Guido Krass, to start the construction of the superyacht builder’s first vessel, M/Y SILVER (now RABDAN), officially launched in 2007. After its launch, the 73-meter yacht was ranked as the largest all-aluminium vessel globally.

In 2009, SilverYachts shipyard launched M/Y SILVER ZWEI (now M/Y DRAGONFLY), which at 78 meters, took over the title of the world’s largest aluminium superyacht. M/Y DRAGONFLY is internationally recognized for its technical excellence and is one of the most active superyachts on the market. She cruises under the Cayman Islands flag.

Silver Yacht’s innovative approach remains central to the Australian shipyard today. A superb team of highly qualified professionals work together to create these custom, world-class superyachts. The state-of-the-art shipyard covers over 6,000 sqm and is home to two construction halls that house fit-out, interior division, design offices and other workshop spaces. The SilverYachts shipyard also benefits from the advanced infrastructure of the Australian Marine Complex (AMC), which includes an 8065-tonne lift capable of hauling vessels up to 140 meters.

SilverYachts’ talents cover the full spectrum of yacht construction, interior and exterior design. Quality paintwork is a key requirement for every yacht owner, so SilverYachts offers a skilled team of paint and fairing specialists. The shipyard interiors division also includes skilled leatherworkers, cabinetmakers and upholsterers.

Iconic SilverYachts Vessels

Iconic Silver Yacht vessels include the 77.0-meter M/Y SILVER FAST launched in 2015. She boasts state-of-the-art cruising technology with power from two 16V 4000 M90 3648hp. MTU diesel engines make her one of the fastest superyachts in the world. She is one of 105 motor yachts in the 70-80-meter size range, and when compared to the competition in a similar size, her cruise speed is 3.06 knots above the average, and her top speed is 9.11 knots per hour above the average. Other superb features include her elegant design from Espen Øino, who has designed 55 yachts and created the naval architecture for 15 vessels.

One of SilverYachts Shipyard’s more recent builds is the 85.3-meter M/Y GLOBALFAST, sistership to BOLD, introduced in 2022. Designed by Espen Øino with the same core characteristics as BOLD, GLOBALFAST is the 2nd vessel to emerge from the explorer series.  She combines larger volumes with high-performance accommodations, up to 16 guests and 20 crew members, perfectly poised to explore the four corners of the globe in complete luxury. She also features the latest cruising technology and amenities, including a cutting-edge marine stabilizer system to reduce the roll at zero speed and underway.  GLOBALFAST offers plenty of options for indulgence and adventure, including a helipad, gym, discotheque, outdoor cinemas, a Jacuzzi, expansive decks, a loft with an interactive ceiling and an award-winning winter garden.
